About the event
There is a 1928 Carriage House on a ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and this summer it fills with the sound of kids in a band.
For five days, your child steps into a real music experience. Not a class in rows. A band. Kids ages 7 to 11 pick up real instruments, form real groups, choose their songs, and rehearse all week toward a live performance on Friday with a potluck and an audience. Every camper also gets a private lesson during the week. All experience levels are welcome, from never-touched-an-instrument to already-playing.
Camp is led by Adam Coopersmith, "Mr. Coopersmith," a beloved local music teacher with over twenty years of experience teaching in schools, camps, and workshops. Kids play on real instruments, including a 1902 Steinway, surrounded by redwoods, with horses on the other side of the fence and gardens to run in between sessions.
